About our Supervised Student Clinics
The student clinics at Vicars are an essential part of our students’ training and we can’t run them without you!
Each massage is only $35. Our appointment includes an assessment, a one-hour massage, and a short home-care consultation. Your massage therapist will be a Vicars student. There is a trained supervisor at every clinic, and they may be present for part of your massage to offer feedback to your student therapist. We do not take requests for specific therapists unless your appointment is part of a student’s second-year case study.
We’re happy to offer a receipt, but please note that your insurance company may not cover student treatments.
Our students are counting on you!
Our students are required to complete 332 hours of hands-on clinic time in order to graduate. They can only earn those hours by treating clients. Late arrivals, last-minute cancellations, and no-shows hurt their academic progress.
If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please give us as much notice as possible (our online booking system makes it quick and easy!).
How to book a student massage
To book your massage, please click on one of the blue buttons above. These links will take you to our virtual clinic receptionist, where you can follow the simple instructions to book, change, or cancel an appointment.
When you arrive for your first massage, we’ll ask you to fill out a couple of forms. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment. Or you can download these documents, print them out and complete them at home, and bring them with you to your appointment.
Having trouble?
Using an online booking system is one of the reasons that we’re able to keep our clinic prices low. Please try using our online system before calling the clinic. Fortunately, the system we use (“Jane”) is easy to use and works on computers, tablets, and phones!
If you require assistance, you can call our Calgary clinic at 403 567 1451 ext 2 or our Edmonton clinic at 780 491 0574 ext 2. These phones are only answered (and voicemails checked) during clinic hours. We recommend that you use the phone only for urgent messages during clinic hours, and use Jane for booking, cancelling, or changing appointments.
In-class teaching clinics
In addition to our daily public clinic, we hold special in-class teaching clinics throughout the school year. These In-Class TeachingClinics are free of charge but they are only available to clients with certain specific medical conditions. To see if you’re eligible and sign up for email alerts, please sign up below.
Community Collaboration
It’s important for our students to learn the value of professional collaboration with their peers in other health care occupations. We welcome health care practitioners from different professions to come to our campus for a complimentary massage.
Our goal is to create connections within our health care community and to have you, the seasoned practitioner, provide insight to students about how massage therapy complements your practice or profession.
We welcome members of all health care professions: nurses, physiotherapists, chiropractors, dental hygienists, osteopaths, social workers, occupational therapists, and everything in between!
