A Vicars education can be your launching pad for a successful career as a massage therapist.
Vicars grads don’t just achieve academic success. Our grads are in great demand to work in clinics, wellness centres and spas, or to join co-op practices. Many of them start their own businesses.
We are grateful to everyone who takes the time to let us know just what kind of an impact we have had on their lives. Below are some of their stories.
I love my career as a massage therapist! My education was excellent and I was fully prepared to work in a clinic with other experienced massage therapists when I graduated. I also love that I have flexibility with what hours I work.
The instructors at Vicars were absolutely amazing!! Knowledgeable, encouraging and ALWAYS supportive.
This RMT certification is the best form of education within this field! As soon as any possible employer sees “Vicars Graduate” on a resume, it pulls that applicant to the top of the rank.
Vicars teaches their students ALL they need to know to become successful in their career; and combined with a positive, hardworking attitude, success is at your fingertips. It is because of this educational foundation I am able to have a busy, growing business. Thank you Vicars School!
Vicars is an excellent school, and I am proud of who I am as a graduate of Vicars. Today you learn hard as you can, tomorrow you can be the best massage therapist in the city!
I have enjoyed every moment of being an RMT so far. And with the knowledge and strength I learned from the school, I am able to go to Osteopathic School and be a A student. Thanks for all of my favourite instructors!
When I applied for jobs in Calgary after graduation, I got several phone calls from employers just because they liked that I had gone to Vicars.
Vicars graduates have a good reputation amongst clients, and with other therapists. I’ve worked at clinics that have had Vicars graduates, and they are busy, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to work with.
I am proud to be a Vicars graduate. Thank you!
Even after a busy day, I leave work so happy because I know that I’m helping so many people. I learned so much about myself while I was at Vicars. Between when I started school and when I finished, I gained so much more confidence: not only in my work, but in myself.
I’m not much of a classroom person – I find it hard to sit and listen to a lecture. So the fact that it was only four classroom days a month worked really well for me. It was hands-on and I got to learn a lot of information in a short amount of time, and then take it home and digest it myself and reread. That setup worked really well for the way that I like to learn.
I was working full-time and had kids. When I found out that Vicars had a weekend program, I knew that I’d be able to continue working while I was in school, which was key for us.
I’m proud to be a graduate of a school with a curriculum that placed me miles ahead of other schools’ graduates in term of knowledge, skills, and professionalism.
Vicars School prepared me amazingly. Great hands-on education rather than just textbook knowledge, plenty of practical work, and experience with real-life conditions often found in the massage field.
I often recommend Vicars when individuals question me about what massage school to attend. Graduates have been well prepared to face the challenges that they will undoubtedly encounter in the profession. Their assessment skills are excellent and they all seem to be very professional. I endorse Vicars wholeheartedly!
It was a very positive, life-changing experience. The material provided me with the knowledge and skills to make me feel very confident in my practice. The instructors really knew the material and were invested in each of us.
Vicars School prepared me fully for my career as a massage therapist. We learned anatomy, practical massage, the emotional component of working with people, business management, administration and so much more.
The flexible schedules allowed me to raise my young family and still attend full-time school. Vicars has amazing teachers, and their extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and conditions gave me a skill set that has made me the massage therapist I am today.
I love that a healing touch can do so much for someone. Seeing the way you affect someone’s life is the most rewarding feeling you will ever have.
I am very proud that I followed a passion, something I truly believed in, and succeeded in making a career out of that.
What am I most proud of in my career so far? Reaching the goals that I set out in my business plan ahead of time – that includes training goals and increasing my business. I am also proud that many of the clients that tried me out when I was a student are still my clients.
I love working with people and I feel that I have given myself a gift by going back to school to get the training that I needed.
As a therapist and an employer, I believe Vicars School is the best massage program. I feel I was prepared for work when I left, and I have also hired many RMTs who have graduated from Vicars and they have all been strong confident therapists.
The school was incredibly supportive of our venture. The instructors bent over backwards for us. We feel very fortunate that we get to do all the things that we love, have fun at the same time, and work with great people. Read more of Holly and Monique’s story here »
From a practitioner’s standpoint, being trained to the same minimum standard as everyone else in the country is huge. But there are schools that, unfortunately, aren’t going to do it until they have to. That’s why it’s such an advantage what Vicars has done. You didn’t have to, but you did. It shows the commitment you have to the profession at large—and it was not a small undertaking.
I am very grateful for this program, which allowed me to fulfill my heart’s desire to become a registered massage therapist and get a full 2200-hour program through blended learning. I live in Golden, BC and it would have been difficult to attend school full time in Vernon or Vancouver, but Calgary was close enough for me to travel to class once a month.
Every time I got my books out to complete the assignments or to study I felt a great excitement. The same feeling came over me when I got into my car and started driving through the Kicking Horse Canyon on my way to Calgary each week.
