Online Massage Therapy Courses

At Vicars School of Massage Therapy, we understand how important it is to offer flexible and accessible education options to our students. That’s why our 2200-hour massage therapy diploma program is delivered through a combination of online courses, in-class instruction, and supervised clinical experience on campus.

This approach is called blended learning. You’ll get a well-rounded massage therapy education, and enjoy a flexible learning experience tailored to your needs.

The benefits of online learning for massage therapy education

Welcome to the world of online learning, where career training meets convenience and flexibility. Modern technology and teaching methods mean that going back to school for a new career doesn’t have to mean sitting in a classroom 9-5, Monday to Friday.

Using today’s digital platforms, you can study, complete assignments, watch lectures, and even connect with your classmates from home—even if you’re training for a hands-on career like massage therapy!

At Vicars School, our full-time massage therapy diploma program is taught through a combination of hands-on practical training on campus and extensive online work that you complete on your own time. This training style  combines the best parts of in-person instruction and independent study.

By offering this blended learning program, we have made high-quality massage therapy education accessible, affordable, and convenient for students across Canada.

As a Vicars student, you’ll be on campus for four full in-class days per month (there are a variety of scheduling options). During this classroom time, you will work closely with instructors and classmates as you learn hands-on skills in the lab and have lectures and discussions on massage theory. You will also get real-world experience at our student clinics starting halfway through your first year.

The rest of the time, you will be continuing your education online. You will do online quizzes, complete directed readings from your textbooks, and access our custom-made videos, recorded lectures, and other online learning resources. You’ll also stay connected to your classmates and instructors using our online learning tools.

This means that you have control over your own education. You can work around your childcare schedule, your work commitments, and your own preferences. You’ll also save time and money by not having to commute to campus every day.

How online learning works at Vicars School

We have been successfully offering our massage therapy courses through blended learning for more than 20 years. In the early years, most of our independent study tools were on paper. But as technology improved and internet access became faster and more affordable, we expanded and improved our online tools.

Today, Moodle, our online learning system, offers a comprehensive set of learning materials and teaching tools. As a Vicars student, you will have about 30 hours of independent study work to do per week. You’ll use our online learning platform to keep track of what you have to do, access training material, and communicate with your instructors and classmates.

When you log on to this “digital classroom,” you’ll be able to do online assignments, forum discussions, videos, and quizzes. Our online learning resources include custom-made videos and recorded lectures to further enhance your understanding of the material.

Doing this work from home doesn’t mean that you’re doing it alone. Another advantage of the online system is that you are able to stay connected with your peers and instructors through our user-friendly online learning tools, even when you’re away from the classroom.

Best of all, you get to enjoy of these advantages without having to make any sacrifices when it comes to the quality of your education. Vicars School’s massage therapy diploma programs are fully accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation, the country’s leading authority on the content and delivery of massage therapy courses.

Start learning online today!

You don’t have to wait until our on-campus classes start in the spring and fall: your massage therapy education can begin today.

Our two core sciences courses, Anatomy & Physiology and Pathology, are delivered entirely online. That means you can get a head start on your education and begin working on these two courses as soon as you’ve registered for the program.

Getting an early start on these two online courses has a lot of advantages. Working on this material before in-person classes begin will cut down on your workload during the regular school year. But it also gives you a fantastic opportunity to get back in the rhythm of being a student, especially if it’s been a few years since the last time you were a student. You also get valuable experience working with our online learning platform, and can even start getting to know some of your instructors and classmates.
